Flowers and trees need pruning, tilling and transplanting to thrive, just like your garden -- or anything in your life you want to grow.
To commemorate a refreshed launch of MoneyClarity, we dedicate the next three days of DailyWorth to spring-cleaning your finances. It’s time to shed regrets, breathe, and think lucidly about what changes now will make your financial life easier for the rest of the year,
For me, this springtime hasn’t been all roses. My personal taxes took days to organize because last year I published my first book, and as a result had way more expenses and deductions. Tax-time has an ironic silver-lining — it exposes all of the messy holes in how I manage my money.
Rather than wait, I’m cleaning up what’s not currently working NOW so that they don’t cause similar problems next year. I’m already in the process of setting up new accounts and working with a bookkeeper to more discretely separate my business finances from my personal finances.
Do you have any major financial regrets that continue to weigh on your psyche? Write them down in a safe, secure place so that you’re clear. Next, let go of any guilt and shame that’s standing between you and dealing with it. Beating yourself up will not lead to getting the situation handled.
If you’d like more support navigating guilt, regret, bank accounts, systems and strategies, keep reading.
There’s no shame in our money game. That’s rule #1 of DailyWorth’s MoneyClarity: No shame, no judgment, no beating yourself for last year’s tax errors. Learn what stands between you and financial control. Get clear about where your money goes and how to spend consciously. Know what kinds of bank accounts you need and how to fund them. And get all the essentials about savings, spending, and investing — without jargon. Want to know more? Click below:
P.S. - Tomorrow’s springtime Money Cleanse will invite you to automate one financial task that could cause you problems if you don’t.
