G'day Blue

Wowzers what a time! Home life and work life both running on overdrive, not that unusual I guess and it's how I like it, but now with catching up after 2 weeks teaching in Italy, added parenting, fixing house problems and trying to get fit, it's even tougher to find time for everything.

Last month my site was badly hacked and while you wouldn't have noticed anything on the front end, it caused all kinds of chaos and I had to migrate servers and stuff. Which is why the site's got out of date - it's fixed now but I need time to get in and update the pages. Which is frustrating too because I'm working real hard on the new site and trying to put 'web site time' into that rather than the old one, but I hope to get all the new lessons updated this week.

I'm putting a LOT of time into the big new website update, a custom made CMS so I don't have to hand code everything anymore - taking a lot of hours now, but will mean more time for making lessons in the future and we got some incredible features in the works once the new shell is all in place. Got great development team on board and it's going great, but it's expensive and if you thought about making a donation but didn't get around to it yet - now would be a great time ;) Sorry to ask! Other news below the headlines!

NEW LESSONS, SONGS & MORE!

New Lessons!

So my new (and improved) Ear Training course is rolling out now. First 4 lessons in the series are out but the web pages are not done yet! Hope to get them sorted tomorrow. They're all on YouTube on the links below. This is going to be an awesome accelerator for those that can go the distance, be probably 6 months work (of just 10 mins a day) but will pay big dividends. New lessons most weeks. Recommended for players of all levels.

Something For The Weekend...
Managed to get a couple of Rolling Stones tracks out before I went to Italy, but otherwise I got none in the can and need to get filming asap! I need to decide where to go with the songs, there are loads on my todo list but many are big ones that take a lot of time and effort, and I'd like to step things up a gear too... watch this space!

Just FYI the Nov/Dec is tied together and will be playing festive songs!

Other App News...

SORRY!! iOS11 updates still not quite ready! After a couple of flaky developers dropped out, I got a great team working on them now but there was too much to do to get out in time, but they're nearly done, and once they're rolled out we'll be updating and improving them all! Apologies for any inconvenience this late update caused anyone!

General News

The Tuscany workshops were awesome as usual, but not without challenges I've not faced before! The first day I lost my voice, almost completely and had to teach with a microphone and a harsh grumble! Was like some kind of horror soundtrack teaching happy songs. And in the second week, many of the students got ill from a bug or food or something and made it all a bit strange - but great feedback again, some saying the best workshops so far - and we've got some even better venues in store for 2017!

The new web site mega update is going great, the back end is mostly sorted (at the most basic level, we got big plans!) but now I'm going through every lesson and checking and updating them, it's gonna take some time, I need probably a month full time to get it done but there's lots to do on top, like new lessons etc. But going as fast as I can!

The new designer Will has been hard at work on the new Tee shirts and there's a bunch more to be out next month too! I'm gonna make sure we have the best range of guitar themed shirts available anywhere :) so if you dig your guitar tees then do go check them out.

The Christmas Songbook is pretty much done, just final proofing needed before it's off to the printer! Think it's a great selection of traditional carol type songs and new funky pop classics and a bunch of fingerstyle arrangements. Should be available mid November!

Also managed to get some new collections of Ear Training Exercises done using various instruments which will be available on the store and iTunes shortly - just waiting on cover artwork. But that'll be cool.

Anyhows, I got plenty to do and no time to do it, so I'll love you and leave you for now. Hope you're having a fab time on your guitar journey and see ya soon!

Wishing you much love, laughter and guitar fun! J.
