Leaving a gift in your will

Some of our supporters choose to leave a gift to Scottish Autism in their Will. We can use these gifts to enhance and extend the opportunities we offer to individuals and families living with autism. We are very sympathetic and understanding regarding how someone may wish for a gift to be used. If you would like to discuss how to leave a gift in your will to Scottish Autism, please contact us in the strictest confidence. Get in touch with our fundraising team at fundraising@scottishautism.org or call 01259 720044.
Founders House

Founders House

We are pleased to be starting work on our new residential service over the coming months. As the individuals we support get older, their needs change over time and additional health and mobility issues add new challenges. We aim for ‘Founders House’ to meet these specific care needs.

Angela Steele, Senior Autism Practitioner, said: “One of the individuals benefiting from this new service has received care from Scottish Autism since her early teens. In addition to being diagnosed with autism, she has a significant visual impairment.

The use of an open plan living space comprising of lounge, dining area and kitchen, will allow her to transition between each area with ease while identifying areas through use of contrasting colours and non-glare surface materials. The communal area within the residence will give her the option to socialise with the other residents if she chooses to do so, rather than the shared accommodation where she currently resides.”

Advice Line

What your support means

Throughout the year, your fundraising efforts allow us to provide some much needed support services like our Autism Advice Line. This service currently costs us £25,685 to run annually and responds to over 1,900 enquiries per year.

“The Advice Line lets parents know that they’re not alone. We were pointed in the direction of local organisations in our area, which helped us to meet parents who are in the same position as us.” – Kimm Curran, Parent of child with autism

Thank you for your help in making it possible for our experienced advisors to be on hand to offer practical and emotional support to individuals and families when they need it most.
