Amazon stock went up 12pc in after-hours trading last night after the company reported Q1 revenues of $29.1bn, yielding its biggest profit ever of $513m thanks to its fast-growing Amazon Web Services division.

Telecoms operator Eir has reported Q3 revenues of €321m, a 3pc increase on last year. It said that it is on target to serve fibre to 1.6m homes by June this year and has an ambition to serve fibre to 80pc of Irish premises.
